December 2023 Butter Babe: Melanie Robinson

When you meet Melanie, you instantly experience the kindness of the Lord. Melanie worked for Reney’s Honey Butter for a period of time in 2022 and was so easy to get along with while making customers feel seen and loved! Melanie is the Children’s Pastor at Luke 4:18 Fellowship in Mobile, Alabama and is married and has 2 sweet girls. Take a moment to read through Melanie’s answers and be encouraged this season!

  1. What is the best way to start your day?
I start each day with a cup of coffee. I like to sit in my recliner and do my daily Bible reading in the Bible app. I use the Bible Recap reading plan and podcast. We have a small group of friends reading through the Bible together. It helps to have accountability.

  2. What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?
I’m a Bama graduate! After the past couple of exciting games, it reminds me of how much fun the games are. I think everyone should attend a big SEC game once in their lifetime.

  3. How do you best connect with the Lord?
I don’t do it often enough, but I love being in nature, seeing God’s beautiful creation. I went on a mission trip to Alaska in July. Truly a beautiful place with mountains, waterfalls and glaciers!

  4. What is something you have overcome and how?
Two years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It made me face a lot of fears, but it also drew me closer to the Lord. My family, friends and church was such a strong support system during that time and I’m forever grateful. Not to have had cancer but to have grown as a person through that experience.

  5. What does connection in community look like for you?
My husband and I have been a part of a community group for almost 3 years now. We are all in the same stage of life (age/kids/etc.) and we meet every Sunday night. We share a meal together, discuss the message from worship that morning and pray for each other. We have had a lot of laughter and some tears through the years. It is so refreshing to have a group that you can be completely transparent and share your joys and also struggles. Deeper friendships outside of just meeting on Sunday nights have developed through this group for both my husband and myself!

  6. What are you passionate about and why?
I am passionate about children’s ministry-teaching kids to know Christ personally, grow in their relationship with Him and go into their places of influence (even as kids!), such as classrooms, sports teams, and neighborhoods to share the good news about Jesus and how He has changed their life!
